Kaja Solgaard Dahl

Duft is a series of aromatic sculptures made using polished larvikite, cast porcelain and naturally scented oils. The objects explore the possibilities of assigning aesthetic forms to scents, with fragrances of the Norwegian landscape infused in the materials. The sculptures are a continuation of the designer’s ambition to give shape to sensory experiences by introducing scent into our surroundings in various ways.

From her base in Oslo, Kaja Solgaard Dahl works with design, sculpture and crafts. She has a bachelor’s degree in Product and Interior Design from Beckmans College of Design in Stockholm and a master's degree in Design for Luxury and Craftsmanship from the Ecole Cantonale d'Art de Lausanne. Her master’s project on sculptural perfumes earned Dahl a prize in Design and Architecture Norway’s Young Talents Award in 2016, and the title of Global Graduate during the Design Indaba Conference in Cape Town in 2017.
